King and Crown is a community of people committed to bringing new things to life to change the world together. Our community is founded on a few core values –– Christian faith, gospel centrality, sharing the gospel, transparency, trust, and honesty. It’s up to all of us to bring new ideas into the world and see the gospel go forward, and to make sure that King and Crown is a place that shares this spirit of support and community. We’ve got just a few rules that we hope you’ll keep in mind along the way!

Don’t spam.

This includes link-bombing, promoting a project where it shouldn’t be promoted, sending unsolicited @’s, hyping third-party services, and using email lists from outside sources, to name a few. The comment and messaging systems on King and Crown are here so people can communicate, ask questions, cheer one another along, share their faith, talk shop and jibba-jab — not for spam.

Don’t be a jerk.

Conversation is an essential part of our community — we encourage backers to talk to creators and to talk to each other, especially when they have questions. All we ask is that those conversations stay honest, considerate and be filled with all kinds of speaking highly of one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. Don’t post obscene, hateful, or objectionable content. Don’t post personal information. Don’t post copyrighted content without permission. If you don’t like a project, don’t back it, simply move along.  If you don’t like a job, don’t apply, there are others.  If you don’t like a person, you should probably work through unforgiveness and reconcile with them (like the bible tells us to as our ministry is a ministry of reconciliation). Please always have respect for our shared space and the other folks visiting it.  Let’s let them know who we are and what we believe by the way we love one another!

If you see something, say something.

If something seems off, let us know. We will review every report we receive, and we take action when we see someone violating these guidelines. Sometimes that just means giving someone a warning, having a chat; sometimes it means revoking certain privileges or accounts entirely. The best way to avoid anything like that happening to you? Don’t spam, don’t be a jerk, and remember we are all works in progress, saved by grace through faith in Jesus.

We are all Christians here.

Remember we are all Christians here or at least we should be.  In light of that, let’s aim for a high standard of conversation, prayer, trust, love, grace and seek to drive forward together with the gospel at the forefront of what we do and say.  Let’s encourage one another in love, back great projects doing great work, reach out and help.  We have an incredible opportunity here to effect history together in Jesus name.  Let us not waste it, let us not waste our lives.

As our community grows and changes, so will the way we evaluate and enforce these guidelines. It’s up to all of us to ensure that King and Crown remains a safe and fun place to launch and back projects, post and apply for jobs, communicate and encourage one-another.  It’s up to all of us to take the gospel forward, build the church and preach Jesus. Thanks for being a part of the King and Crown community!
